Shibari Essentials 2 - Connective Tying

During our Introduction to Shibari class, we often say that Japanese rope bondage is not just about technique and aesthetics. It’s mostly about creating an intimate interaction between two (play) partners, be it soft or sadistic, static or playful, sensual or outright sexual.

In this class we will show you how to get into a “tying bubble” with your partner, how to use ropes, verbal and physical communication to convey your intentions as a rope top or as bottom. We will include untying with care and attention as an equally important part of your shibari game. Connective Tying is about getting into a flow together, using just basic shibari techniques. Let go of the idea that you have to tie “a pattern” and start tying from your creative intentions, and your own unique personal energies.
