Shibari Essentials 4 - TK Chest Harness

Explore the Essentials of Shibari in 3-hour classes at Shibari Lounge in Antwerp. After the Essentials workshop series you will be able to safely tie several basic patterns, with attention on technique and aesthetics of course, but especially focusing on the experience you will have together with your (rope) partner.

Chest Harness for Partials and Full Suspension

In the class Chest Harness for Partials & Full Suspension we will teach you one of the major building blocks of Japanese bondage, the chest harness with hands behind the back, aka Gote, box tie or Takate Kote (TK). You will learn to correctly tie a basic box tie (2-rope TK), and practice under guidance with using it safely in floorwork and partial suspensions. We will adapt the TK harness to be comfortable for your partner*. We will also spend considerable time on the potential risks of nerve injury when using the TK (and rope bondage in general), and how to prevent it.

* We will help you adapt the harness to your partner as much as possible, but please bear in mind that in a group class we cannot cover the more complex situation in case your partner is not able to hold the hands behind the back. For these situations, we recommend you book a private workshop with one of us, so we can work out a safe and comfortable harness together.
