The chest harness with the hands behind the back - one of the essentials in Shibari!
Time & Location
20 Jul 2025, 10:30 – 13:30
Shibari Lounge, Sergeyselsstraat 42, 2140 Antwerpen, Belgium
About The Event
In the class Chest Harness for Partials & Full Suspension we will teach you one of the major building blocks of Japanese bondage, the chest harness with hands behind the back, aka Gote, box tie or Takate Kote (TK). You will learn to correctly tie a basic box tie (2-rope TK), and practice under guidance with using it safely in floorwork and partial suspensions. We will adapt the TK harness to be comfortable for your partner*. We will also spend considerable time on the potential risks of nerve injury when using the TK (and rope bondage in general), and how to prevent it.
* We will help you adapt the harness to your partner as much as possible, but please bear in mind that in a group class we cannot cover the more complex situation in case your partner is not able to hold the hands behind the back. For these situations, we recommend you book a private workshop with one of us, so we can work out a safe and comfortable harness together.
For whom?
This workshop aims at couples with a first experience in Shibari, who want become more fluent in the basic techniques. You have done the Introduction to Shibari and Shibari Essentials parts 1 to 3 with us or you have learned elsewhere how to do a single column tie and how to use tension, contra tension and frictions.
Registration:
Price: 90€ per couple. Registration is per couple only. Switching during the workshop is not allowed.
If you are single and want to attend a workshop: we cannot provide you with a rope partner. Please try to find a partner at our Shibari Night, other rope events or put an ad on social media.
