Workshop: Shibari Essentials 2 - Connective Tying - 9/8

Japanese rope bondage is not just about technique and aesthetics. It’s mostly about creating an intimate interaction between two (play) partners!

Time & Location

09 Aug 2025, 14:30 – 17:30

Shibari Lounge, Sergeyselsstraat, 2140 Antwerpen, Belgium

About The Event

Japanese rope bondage is mostly about creating an intimate interaction between two (play) partners, be it soft or sadistic, static or playful, sensual or outright sexual. Let go of the idea that you have to tie “a pattern” and start tying from your creative intentions, and your own unique personal energies.

Connective Tying is about getting into a flow together, using just basic shibari techniques. Untying is equally important in the game of shibari. Therefore we will not just teach you to tie with care and attention, but to keep the energy between the both of you flowing right up to the moment the last rope is untied, and even after.

For whom:

This workshop is for (play) couples who did the Introduction to Shibari course at Shibari Lounge (or followed a similar class elsewhere). You are familiar with:

  • Single column tie

  • Tension and reverse tension

  • Basic frictions: half hitch, nodome, yuki fix

  • Extending a rope
